I adopted Bast in November, which is part of the reason for my winter blog hiatus (which extended into spring).
Bast is brave and curious. He makes sure everyone human and kitty get their daily snuggles. He loves sticking his nose in Hobbes fur, playing, snuggling, and eating with Callie, and he makes sure to hug everyone – even human guests. His favorite thing to do is to purr on my neck in the early morning.
He is named after the Egyptian cat god Bast or Bastest and the charming character Bast from the King Killer books.
He was sick when he was a kitten with a cold and the cat equivalent of pink-eye. Despite our best efforts, the other two cats also caught his cold which led to adorable sneezes. Don’t worry, everyone is now healthy and pampered as ever. Even though Bast is bigger now, he’s every bit as adorable and fun as when he was a kitten!
